We were only scheduled to do one scene this weekend, as Steve was out of town. We were to do the “Bill Gill in East LA” scene, pretty easy I thought. Outdoors in the day time (so no lights needed), only 3 speaking parts, no action other than walking. Seems like it would have been easy. We’ll not know until we try again, though, as my car spoiled the plans for Saturday.
Friday night I went to meet with a potential actress, and on the way there my car pooped out, and in a really weird way. I was turning left onto Montgomery, and I head what I can best describe as “sand in the steering wheel,” there was scratching and crunching as I turned. Then my horn started to go off, on its own. People were staring, I’m sure wondering “why the hell is that guy honking at me?” well, it wasn’t me, it was the car. Stupid car. Being as I barely made it home from the two blocks away that I was without beating the car (or my hands) to death, I did not see any way I would be able to drive the 10 miles or so to Adam’s the next day. So I had to cancel. And I have not fixed it yet, but I found my horns and unplugged them, so at least I can drive the thing.
So we reschedule. Now my NEW concern is that fall is completely upon us, with cooling temperatures (a problem as Horn Dog’s costume is a T-Shirt and Boxers) and color-changes (also a problem, as we have not shot a lot of our outdoor stuff, including the outdoor water plant stuff, which takes place on “the hottest day of the year,” which probably6 WOULDN’T be once the leaves are changing!) So what to do, what to do???
